Great work! I saw your post on Sycra's site, glad to see someone on DA that isnt afraid of constructive critism (seems like a lot are).
Here's my two cents: I feel like using the really dark/black strokes in the fur make it look a bit too constrasty/scratchy.
If you look at animal fur in photos it gradates rather softly from where the dark areas meet the light areas. I think a good idea would be to try to paint on the local values, then blend those together. Once thats done paint the fur texture on top of that (using a dark color, but not black, barely any 100% black should be used in a painting if your going for soomething realistic.
PS. I saw you say you use Krita because its a free software and have some moral issues with pirating software; Photoshop CS2 is free on Adobes site, it has pretty much all the same features the newest Photoshop has (minus some fancy photography editing tools).
